Re: A Taste of the Town
The Board of Trustees for Schulenburg ISD has established the Orange & Black Scholarship. Fundraisers will be conducted in conjunction with Senior Parents to raise money for the Scholarships. The idea is simple that if you are a graduate of a particular year you will be eligible to receive an amount determined by the Board each year based on funds available.
The students must submit an application to the Board by May 1st to be eligible and then once approved they must enroll in a Post-Secondary Institution or Trade school and submit a bill to our finance department by the end of September and we will issue the designated amount.
Our First Fund Raiser will be held on Thursday, November 19th from 5:30 – 7:45pm.
It will be called, “ A Taste of the Town” and feature soups made by our senior parents and baked potatoes. Additionally, tea, coffee, water, cookies, and condiments will be available for this sit down meal. Donations to the Establishment of the Orange & Black
Scholarship will be gladly accepted.
We will also have a Silent Auction, which will feature desserts made by the parents of our Senior Students, and bids can be made on them from 5:30 – 7:40pm with the highest bidder receiving the dessert.
Additionally background music and or a possible talent show including our own SISD students will be included from 6:30-7:00pm.
At 7:00pm a small presentation about tracking the Stimulus dollars will be presented followed by an opportunity for Questions and Answers with Parents and Administrators.
We invite you to be a part of our students’ futures by supporting our senior students in the establishment of the Orange & Black Scholarship.
We are one community working together for each one of our students.
Sincerely,
Walter Padgett
